About

I’m Marissa – a Jersey transplant (without the accent) who has been in Los Angeles since May 2011 when I boarded a plane from PHL to LAX with two suitcases, a one way ticket, a copy of Kelly Cutrone’s If You Have to Cry, Go Outside and a mission to someday work in entertainment. I’m a Friend of the Pod, a bit of a Francophile, fan of fancy drinks, Australian licorice, and an all-around total nerd.

A voracious reader and content consumer, I am the person you can find watching all genres of programming on all platforms – and as you can see from reading, my taste is not specific. When i’m not diving into episodic content, you can find me live-Tweeting  several shows and utilizing series hashtags; not only because I live for a great storyline and relatable (or sometimes un-relatable) characters, but because culturally in these times a show or film can bring the masses together, and entertainment has become more than just a viewing experience. Great episodic content has become interactive with writers, the cast, and other viewers taking part in the conversation making it more than just something to watch, but rather something to discuss.

My ultimate goal is to be a creative producer. I want to help outstanding content and unique voices be heard through the clutter of what has become a fractured media environment and continue to innovate the landscape with representation of all individuals through stories that not only entertain, but can educate.

I tend to write about what I love on this blog in lieu of telling you what doesn’t work for me – after all, that’s what the 280 characters on Twitter are for. So, welcome! I hope you’re able to discover something from reading that perhaps you never would have watched.
